In 1998, Michael Novogratz was elected as a partner at investment banking giant Goldman Sachs, a place where he spent a total of 11 years before leaving in 2002.

Today we know Novogratz as one of the pioneers in the crypto industry but his journey includes decades in the traditional financial world. In 2002, he became President of Fortress Investment Group, the $50 billion financial services firm.

Novogratz, who was also the chief investment officer of the macro fund of Fortress Investment Group, stayed with the company for more than a decade. He left Fortress Investment Group in 2015.

Novogratz served on the New York Federal Reserve’s Investment Advisory Committee on financial markets from 2012 – 2015.

The former Goldman Sachs Partner launched Galaxy Digital in 2018. It soon became one of the biggest firms in the crypto world and now has more than $7 billion in assets.

Novogratz serves as the Chairman of The Bail Project and has made criminal justice reform a focus of his family’s foundation. He also sits on the Board of Overseers at the New York University Langone Medical Center and is a board member of the Princeton Varsity Club and Jazz Foundation of America.

Novogratz received an AB in Economics from Princeton University and served as a helicopter pilot in the US Army.
